Compare the value and the workflow

Attriboo vs Fathom

Event values and payment records need different setup checks.

Fathom supports valued events alongside its traffic dashboard. Attriboo connects supported payment-provider records to recorded visits. Choose based on the reports you need, the identity tradeoffs and the workload across your websites.

Follow the value into a report

Inspect Which Source Receives Revenue Credit

In Attriboo's Dashboard, keep one website and date range selected. Choose the attribution model, then open Where Is My Money Coming From? → Sources. Inspect the source rows and use View all for the standalone report.

Find this card below the live globe, beside Pages & Checkout Links. The overview keeps the complete source list and neighboring reports visible; the source controls and first rows are enlarged below.

Example: use Sources to compare recorded visitors and revenue credit, then View all to open the standalone report.
  1. Open the source view

Sources separates services such as Google Ads and ChatGPT. Channels groups them into broader categories.

  2. Open the full report

View all opens the standalone Sources report, where you can review its date range and search the recorded rows.

The Sources guide explains revenue credit and recorded visitors. Use the payment records to reconcile amounts and refunds before interpreting the allocation. In Fathom, its event-reporting guide explains filtering by events and campaigns.

Website activity is only part of the meter

Count Your Events and Reporting Calls

Fathom's monthly allowance is shared across sites, pageviews and custom event completions. Its API reference also counts requests toward that allowance. Include planned reporting calls when estimating usage.

Your recorded workload

Work Out Your Attriboo Allowance

Use pageviews and custom goals. Payments do not count as these events. Bot requests have a separate allowance. These inputs stay in your browser.

Review all allowances and terms

Compare the same measured workload with Fathom's current plans. This calculator quotes Attriboo only; it does not estimate another vendor's bill or convert visitors into events. Attriboo's report window and event-row limit still apply.

The calculator quotes Attriboo only. Check website limits and Attriboo's reporting window and event-row cap separately from the traffic allowance. Avoid a savings claim until the measured workload and required features are comparable.

Start with an explainable amount

Verify One Event and One Provider Record

Use one known purchase to check the implementation before comparing a month of totals.

  1. Confirm the action being measured.

Distinguish a completed purchase from a button click or a trial start. Check the amount and currency against the provider.

  2. Check the event unit and duplicate behavior.

Fathom's ecommerce event guide uses cents. Verify the configured event and test the effect of a reload or repeated callback.

  3. Check payment matching and later adjustments.

Follow the chosen Attriboo connection's instructions. Confirm the payment once, then evaluate the refund or renewal records your business needs.

  4. Choose the report that fits the task.

Compare the same dates and currency. Keep your existing reports until you can explain collection differences and the chosen identity setup.

Your remaining questions

Before You Choose Attriboo or Fathom

Use these answers to resolve the reporting, setup and switching questions that can change your decision.

Does Fathom track revenue or only visitors?

Fathom supports monetary values on event completions, so it can report more than visitor counts. Attriboo connects supported payment-provider records with recorded visits. Decide whether you need event-value analysis, provider payment and refund records, or separate tools for those tasks.

Are Fathom event values sent in dollars or cents?

Its ecommerce guide specifies cents: a $24.50 value is sent as 2450. Check the amount's unit before sending it. Set the intended event currency too; Fathom's currency settings affect display rather than converting money between currencies. Keep your provider record available to verify the underlying amount.

Do Fathom events and API requests affect the plan allowance?

Yes. Fathom says custom event completions share the monthly allowance with pageviews, and its API documentation says requests count too. Estimate the reporting and management calls you plan to make as well as website traffic. Attriboo's calculator counts its pageviews and custom goals and does not calculate a Fathom invoice.

Is Fathom's $15 plan directly comparable with Attriboo's entry tier?

Compare the included workload and account scope first. Fathom advertises $15 monthly for a shared 100,000 allowance and 50 sites. Attriboo has an ongoing free allowance for one website and paid event tiers. Include your websites, custom events, API use and required reporting features before deciding which plan fits.

How does Fathom's trial differ from Attriboo's free plan?

Fathom advertises a seven-day trial with a card required, followed by a paid subscription unless cancelled. Attriboo's ongoing free plan includes 5,000 monthly pageview and custom-goal events for one website. Check the account scope and reporting limits as well as the evaluation period.

Why can event value and a payment report show different totals?

Check which action fired the event, whether it fired once, the amount unit, currency and reporting dates. Then reconcile later refunds or renewals against the payment provider. An assigned event value does not by itself explain how a later adjustment was handled. In Attriboo, supported payment and refund records vary by connection and may not all match a recorded visit.

Does Attriboo use the same tracking identity as Fathom?

No. Fathom documents a cookie-free collection process with daily visitor-signature salt rotation. Attriboo's standard tracker uses a persistent first-party browser ID for linked activity. Its separate cookieless mode stores daily pageview totals without sources or visitor links. Choose the implementation and consent setup that fit your reporting task.

Can I run Fathom and Attriboo together during an evaluation?

Yes. Keep tracking and checkout setup distinct, confirm event counts and reconcile a known payment. Compare the same dates, currency and underlying action before comparing source credit. Retain the existing reports while you decide whether the new workflow answers your question and whether its report scope is sufficient.
