Understand recorded revenue
Revenue reporting uses recorded payments associated with a website. It is different from the amount available in your bank account, and it is not the same as business profit.
Start with the same scope
- The same website or store.
- The same dates and timezone.
- The same currency.
- The same treatment of refunds, taxes, payment fees, and recurring payments.
Recorded revenue and attributed revenue
Recorded revenue describes payments in the report. Attributed revenue describes how that amount is credited to sources or other recorded activity. A different attribution model can change the credit without changing the original payment.
A payment status is not a bank payout
Payment providers can group payouts differently, deduct fees, or pay on a later date. Compare individual payment information and definitions before trying to match a dashboard total to your bank balance.
If visits appear but sales do not
First check the dates and website. Then review payment setup and whether a payment has been recorded and matched. A provider check mark in a demo is sample state; it does not confirm a real connection to your account.
