Filter your dashboard and build funnels

Filters narrow the whole dashboard to the visitors you care about, for example people from Google, from Germany, or who booked a demo. Funnels show how many visitors take the steps you choose, in order, and where the rest stop.

Filter the dashboard

  1. Select + Add filter above your charts.

Choose what to filter by: source, channel, campaign, landing page, visited page, hostname, country, device, browser, operating system or completed goal.

  2. Choose is or is not, pick a value, and select Apply.

Values come from your own visits, with how many visitors have each.

  3. Add more filters to narrow further.

A visitor has to match all of them. Remove one with its ×, or select Clear.

Save a segment

With filters on, select Save as segment and give it a name, such as Paid search, US. Pick it from Segments next time to apply all its filters at once. Segments are yours: other people on your team keep their own.

Build a funnel

  1. Open the Map & Funnels view and select New funnel.

Workspace owners and admins can create funnels; everyone on the team can see them.

  2. Add 2 to 8 steps.

Each step is a page visit (is, starts with, or contains), a completed goal, or a purchase.

  3. Save the funnel.

Each step shows how many visitors reached it, the share who stopped after the step before, the revenue from those visitors, and where most of them first came from.

How steps are counted

  • Steps count only in order: a visitor reaches step 2 only after step 1, within the dates you've selected.
  • Filters apply to funnels too, so you can compare one source's funnel with another's.
  • /pricing and /pricing/ count as the same page.

You are done when

You can narrow your numbers to any group of visitors and see where they leave your funnel.
