Track sign-ups, trials and demo bookings
A goal is an action that matters before anyone pays: starting a free trial, booking a demo, asking for a quote. Attriboo counts each one and shows how many of those people later bought, so you can judge your marketing before the revenue arrives.
Before you start
- The Attriboo script is on your website and visits are arriving.
- You can edit your website's buttons and forms, in your site builder or in its code.
Option 1: Tag a button or form
- Pick the button, link or form that marks the goal.
For demos, the Book a demo button. For trials, the sign-up form.
- Add an attribute named data-attriboo-goal.
Its value is the name you want in your reports, for example data-attriboo-goal="Booked demo". Most site builders keep this under the element's settings as Custom attributes.
- If your builder only accepts CSS classes, add a class instead.
Write attriboo-goal- and then the name, with dashes between words. The class attriboo-goal-started-trial is reported as Started trial.
- Publish the page and complete the goal once yourself.
It appears in your dashboard within a minute.
Option 2: Calendly bookings are automatic
If Calendly is embedded on your page, inline or as a pop-up, every finished booking is recorded as the goal Calendly booking. You do not need to change anything.
A plain link to calendly.com takes people off your website, where the script cannot see them. Use Calendly's embed code instead.
Option 3: Ask a developer
A developer can record a goal from your website's code with window.attriboo.track("Started trial"), or from your server through the Attriboo API. This suits goals that are not a single button, such as an account being confirmed by email.
Where goals appear
On the dashboard, open Customer Conversion Paths & Goal Bottlenecks and choose Goal Milestones. Each goal shows how often it happened, how many visitors completed it, and what share of them went on to buy.
Things to know
- Each recorded goal counts as one event toward your monthly allowance.
- Use the same name everywhere. Booked demo and Booked a demo are reported as two different goals.
- Goals are not sales. Revenue still comes from your payment connection.
If a goal does not appear
- Check the spelling: data-attriboo-goal, or a class starting with attriboo-goal-.
- Some forms send their answers by script without a normal submit. If a tagged form is not counted, tag its send button instead.
- If your website asks visitors for cookie consent and you set up Attriboo to wait for it, visitors who decline are not counted.
You are done when
Completing the action on your own website adds the goal to Goal Milestones on your dashboard.
