Install Attriboo on your website
Your website needs to send visit information to Attriboo. You do this by adding a small piece of code called a tracking script. If someone else manages your website, they can help with this step.

Before you start
- You have added the correct website in Attriboo.
- You can change and publish that website, or you can ask the person who manages it.
- You know which tool was used to build it. Different website builders put code settings in different places.
Get the code for your website
- Choose the correct website in Attriboo.
Check its address near the top of the dashboard.
- Open Setup.
You will see the script for the selected website.
- Choose your platform under Where is your site built?
Use Copy beside Your code. Setup supplies the correct code format for your platform, with your own website ID filled in. WordPress also offers a plugin installation.
- Add the complete script to your website's head code area.
Use your website builder's instructions for site-wide header or custom code. If you cannot find that setting, ask the person who manages the website before changing files.
- Save and publish the website change.
Opening an unpublished editor preview may not test the installation on your actual website.
What does head mean
The head is a behind-the-scenes part of a webpage used for settings and scripts. It is different from the heading people can see. Do not paste the script into a normal page text box.
Track your subdomains
If your site has more than one part, such as yoursite.com, blog.yoursite.com and app.yoursite.com, paste the same script on each one. Use the website you already added in Attriboo; you don't need a separate website for each subdomain.
There is nothing else to set up. Attriboo recognises the subdomains and keeps one visitor as they move between them, so someone who arrives from a newsletter on your blog and signs up in your app is credited to the newsletter, not to your blog.
To see which subdomain brings in customers, open the Pages & Checkout Links card on the dashboard and choose Domains. Pages on a subdomain are shown with its name, for example blog.yoursite.com/pricing.
Does your website change pages without reloading
Some websites load the first page once, then change what you see without loading a new document. This is called a single-page app, or SPA. Attriboo now records supported browser page changes automatically, including Back and Forward navigation.
Install the tracker once. Do not add another loader or a manual pageview on each route. Query-only changes and ordinary section anchors do not count as new pages. Check the first page, an internal link, and Back after publishing.
Not sure which website builder you use
Ask the person who built the website which tool they used and where it accepts site-wide scripts. You can keep using the Attriboo demo while they help with installation.
You are done when
Your website change is published and ready for a real test visit.
