How to install Attriboo on WordPress
The Attriboo WordPress plugin can install tracking for you. It can also send WooCommerce orders and AI crawler requests. You choose which features to turn on in its settings.
Instructions reviewed
Before you start
- Add your WordPress website in Attriboo and check that the correct address is selected.
- Sign in to WordPress with permission to upload plugins. On a multisite network, your network administrator may need to install it.
- Self-hosted WordPress can use the plugin upload method below. WordPress.com requires a paid plan with plugin access; its free plan does not allow this installation.
- Take your usual website backup before installing a new plugin.
Get the plugin and your connection details
- In Attriboo, open Setup for your website.
Under Add the tracking script to your website, choose WordPress, then Download the plugin (attriboo.zip). Keep the file zipped.
- Copy your Website ID from the WordPress instructions.
It starts with site_. Keep it ready for the plugin settings.
- Open Settings → API & MCP in Attriboo.
Select Show, then Copy key. The key starts with atb_live_. Paste it only into the private WordPress settings below.

- Upload Plugin
- Open Plugins → Add New Plugin in WordPress.
Choose Upload Plugin and select attriboo.zip from your computer.
- Select Install Now, then Activate Plugin.
Download the plugin from Attriboo Setup; this method does not require finding it in the WordPress plugin directory.

Choose what the plugin sends
| Setting | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Add the tracking script to every page | Turn on when the plugin will install visitor tracking. If Attriboo is already installed through your theme or tag manager, remove that copy first or leave this option off. |
| Log visits from AI crawlers | Turn on to send crawler request totals separately from human visits. Caches that bypass WordPress can limit what the plugin sees. |
| Send WooCommerce orders and refunds | Turn on for a WooCommerce store. New supported paid orders and refunds are sent after installation; earlier orders are not imported. |
Check WordPress tracking
- Clear your website cache after saving.
Also clear any CDN or optimization cache that may still serve the page without the new script.
- Open your published site while signed out of WordPress.
Make the normal consent choice. Open a page and follow a link to another page.
- Open Attriboo → Setup → Test Connection.
Check for activity on your website. Then check those paths in Pages using the current dates.
If you also use WooCommerce
Keep the order option on and check the next supported completed payment in Attriboo. The plugin records order revenue before tax, includes shipping, and sends refunds. It does not import orders from before installation.
Visitor tracking and order reporting are separate checks. Seeing an order does not prove that its earlier visit was recorded. Keep one WooCommerce order sender for the same transactions.
Can I install without the Attriboo plugin
Yes. Copy your selected website’s script from Attriboo Setup into an existing site-wide head-code tool you trust, then publish and test it. Keep the complete script and install it once. This adds visitor tracking; it does not add the plugin’s WooCommerce or crawler features.
A theme’s normal content editor is not a site-wide script setting. Avoid editing the parent theme just to add tracking, because a theme update can replace your edit.
