Two ways to follow the money

Attriboo vs DataFast

Choose the revenue attribution workflow that fits your website.

Both connect website activity with payments. Attriboo gives you an ongoing free allowance to evaluate its reports. DataFast offers a trial and documented CLI workflows. Compare your checkout, reporting needs and setup before deciding.

Inspect the reporting workflow

Follow a Source Through to a Recorded Purchase

In Attriboo's Dashboard, find Where Is My Money Coming From? and open Sources. Keep the website, dates and attribution model consistent as you compare visitors with revenue credit. The Sources reporting guide explains how to read the rows.

Where to find itDashboard → Where Is My Money Coming From? → Sources

Find this card below the live globe, beside Pages & Checkout Links. The overview keeps the complete source list and neighboring reports visible; the source controls and first rows are enlarged below.

Select the overview to open the full screenshot.

Enlarged detail of the outlined area

Example: use Sources to compare recorded visitors and revenue credit, then View all to open the standalone report.
  1. Open the source view

Sources separates services such as Google Ads and ChatGPT. Channels groups them into broader categories.

  2. Open the full report

View all opens the standalone Sources report, where you can review its date range and search the recorded rows.

Read the Journey Behind the Number

Open Journeys & Funnels → Journeys, select With a new purchase, then Full paths. Inspect the recorded sequence and its linked value. This is a visit-based purchase view; it excludes refunds and renewals from linked new-purchase value. The Journeys guide explains the difference from model-based revenue credit.

Reconcile a Refund Before Comparing Source Totals

In the opening example, a $120 payment less a $20 refund leaves $100 before fees and other business costs. That arithmetic does not tell you which source receives credit. First confirm the payment and refund records, then inspect matching, reporting dates and the selected model.

DataFast's payment API also documents refunds and renewals. Use the same payment scope and dates when checking either report.

Price the actual workload

Count Events Before Comparing Plans

Attriboo meters pageviews and custom goals. DataFast also publishes traffic-based plans. Compare the included events, websites, team access and report scope with the billing term you intend to buy.

Your recorded workload

Work Out Your Attriboo Allowance

Use pageviews and custom goals. Payments do not count as these events. Bot requests have a separate allowance. These inputs stay in your browser.

10,000 events / month$5 / month

Up to 10,000 monthly events. Billed monthly.

Review all allowances and terms

Compare the same measured workload with DataFast's current plans. This calculator quotes Attriboo only; it does not estimate another vendor's bill or convert visitors into events. Attriboo's report window and event-row limit still apply.

Free allowances and data retention are different questions. Attriboo's documented reports cover the most recent 365 days and up to 250,000 events per site. Check the reporting scope before choosing a traffic allowance.

Make the decision on your own setup

Evaluate One Known Journey Before Switching

Keep the first check small enough to explain. A historical payment import cannot recreate visits your tracker never recorded.

  1. Install tracking and confirm an arrival.

Follow the installation guide. Verify that a visit from your website reaches the correct report.

  2. Connect the checkout you actually use.

Check the provider's authorization, matching instructions and history support. Keep each tool's visitor identifiers in its own checkout fields.

  3. Check a known payment and refund.

Use an authorized test workflow where supported. Compare record IDs, currency, dates and duplicate behavior before comparing source credit.

  4. Decide which reporting workflow fits.

Check the answer you need, the setup you can maintain, the report scope and the total plan cost. Keep existing reports until you are satisfied with the evaluation.

For AI-assisted analysis, review Attriboo's MCP setup and DataFast's MCP permissions. For crawler reporting, keep server requests separate from human visits and payment outcomes.

Your remaining questions

Before You Choose Attriboo or DataFast

Your checkout, reporting scope and willingness to maintain the setup should settle the choice. These answers cover the follow-up questions that can change that decision.

Can Attriboo replace DataFast for my website?

It can fit the same visit-to-payment reporting task when your checkout uses a supported Attriboo payment connection. Start by checking the provider, attribution model, reporting window and refund behavior you need. Both products offer terminal access. Compare DataFast's documented CLI commands with the setup and reporting actions your workflow needs.

Is Attriboo free, and how does that differ from DataFast's trial?

Attriboo has an ongoing free plan with 5,000 monthly pageview and custom-goal events for one website. Its first paid allowance is $5 a month for 10,000 events. DataFast advertises a 14-day trial. Check DataFast's current plan, allowance and billing term before comparing the paid cost.

Can I evaluate Attriboo alongside DataFast?

Yes. Keep each tool's tracking and checkout identifiers separate, then compare the same website, dates, currency and payment scope. Record a known journey and confirm the payment once in each tool. Different identity coverage or attribution settings can produce different source totals, so investigate the records before deciding one result is wrong.

Will importing past payments restore my old visitor journeys?

No. A payment import cannot recreate website visits that a tracker never recorded. Attriboo's payment-history support depends on the provider; some connections import recent records and others start with new payments. Keep your existing reports while evaluating, and check which historical payments can actually be linked to recorded visits.

Does DataFast support refunds and recurring payments?

Yes. DataFast's payment API documents refund and renewal information, including refund amounts. The useful comparison is how your actual checkout sends those records and how each report treats them. In Attriboo, check the provider's supported records, the reporting dates and any unmatched payments before interpreting revenue by source.

Why might Attriboo, DataFast and my payment provider show different revenue?

Check the payment and refund dates, time zone, currency, tax and shipping treatment, attribution model, duplicate records and visitor matching. A provider's complete payment ledger and a report of revenue attributed to recorded visits can cover different records. Reconcile one known payment and refund first, then widen the reporting period.

Can these tools tell me whether ChatGPT traffic becomes revenue?

You can investigate recorded human AI referrals and the payments linked to those visits. Keep those outcomes separate from AI crawler requests. DataFast documents server-side bot tracking, and Attriboo reports crawler activity separately from human referrals. A crawler request does not establish that an assistant cited your page or caused a purchase.

Can I ask an AI assistant about my analytics?

Both products document MCP access for compatible AI assistants. Attriboo's MCP defaults to report access, with separately approved website setup; its general REST API also supports documented event and payment writes through workspace keys. DataFast documents permissions for analytics and supported write operations, as well as a CLI. Compare the tools and permissions your client actually needs.

Does choosing Attriboo remove the need to think about cookies and consent?

No. Attriboo's standard tracker uses a persistent first-party visitor ID in a cookie and localStorage. Review the tracking configuration and consent requirements for your implementation. Revenue attribution alone does not establish that a setup is cookieless or exempt from consent requirements.
