Track LinkedIn ads and organic posts

Attriboo can read labelled LinkedIn links and connect permitted recorded website visits to matched sales. It does not currently connect to LinkedIn to import advertising costs. You can add supported costs manually or by CSV.

Use LinkedIn’s dynamic values when needed

LinkedIn supports uppercase values inside double braces. Its campaign hierarchy and available values changed to include campaigns, ad sets and ads. Choose the level that matches the cost rows you will import; do not assume an old campaign macro still represents the same level.

Add the parameters in LinkedIn, not in the fixed-value Attriboo builder. For the newer hierarchy, the example below labels a campaign and ad; use AD_SET_ID for the campaign label if your cost records are grouped by ad set. Verify the available values in your account and test a real delivered destination.

Example parameters for LinkedIn’s newer campaign hierarchy
utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign={{CAMPAIGN_ID}}&utm_content={{AD_ID}}

Track an unpaid LinkedIn post

Choose LinkedIn post in the builder, keeping marketing type social. New permitted visits are labelled Social → LinkedIn. Give each post a distinct campaign label if you want separate revenue rows.

Attriboo also recognizes linkedin.com and lnkd.in as LinkedIn referring domains. A domain alone does not identify the exact post or ad. Explicit labels remain useful when an in-app browser does not provide a referrer.

Add LinkedIn costs separately

Export the appropriate daily campaign costs from your LinkedIn account, then use Attriboo’s ad-spend CSV template. Its columns are date, source, campaign, amount and currency. Use source linkedin, the exact link campaign label and the website’s currency. This imports costs, not LinkedIn-reported conversions.

A small campaign can also use the existing manual cost control. Check whether you are entering a campaign total or daily CSV costs; do not count both for the same campaign. There is no automatic LinkedIn spend sync in this release.

Find the visits and sales in Attriboo

  1. Choose the same website and dates.

Include the test visit and any later payment. Keep the same attribution model when comparing campaigns.

  2. Check Sources, then Campaigns or Ad ROAS.

Sources shows the platform label. Campaigns groups visits and credited revenue by utm_campaign. A campaign label is not proof that the activity was a paid ad.

  3. Use distinct campaign labels for separate post revenue rows.

If two posts share a campaign label, their campaign totals are combined. The optional utm_content label is recorded with activity; it does not create a separate per-post or per-ad revenue report. For paid ads, keep the campaign ID or name that matches the imported cost.

  4. Check a missing sale separately.

A payment can be imported without a matching visit. Consent, blocked tracking, country controls, another device, a cleared identifier or missing checkout metadata can prevent matching. A tagged link does not fix those gaps.

Know the limits

This tracks visits that reach your website and are permitted by your installation. A LinkedIn Lead Gen Form completed inside LinkedIn does not load your website tracker. A tagged URL does not import that form’s answers, identify every LinkedIn member or measure view-through conversions.

Copied links keep their labels. If a LinkedIn-labelled URL is shared somewhere else, its labels still describe LinkedIn; treat labels as the publisher’s intended placement rather than proof of the final sharing location.

You are done when

New paid LinkedIn visits have a Paid Ads → LinkedIn Ads label, unpaid posts have Social → LinkedIn, and any costs match the same campaign labels.
