Track Meta ads, Facebook and Instagram revenue

Use labelled Meta ad links to connect permitted recorded visits with matched payments. Attriboo’s Meta connection can import campaign costs when the connection is available and authorized. An ordinary Facebook click is not automatically proof of a paid ad.

Instructions reviewed

Connect costs when Meta Ads is available

  1. Open Setup → Import ad spend → Meta Ads.

Connect with a Meta login that can read the correct advertising accounts. Choose the intended accounts and save.

  2. Check campaign labels against imported costs.

Use the campaign ID or name from the same account in your links. Matching names ignores case, spaces, underscores and dashes; distinct IDs reduce accidental matches.

  3. If the connection says Available soon, use supported manual costs or CSV.

A stored integration is not a confirmed live connection. The service needs its platform configuration and Meta permissions before other businesses can connect. Labelled visit tracking does not require granting Meta account access to Attriboo.

Keep unpaid posts separate

Choose Facebook post or Instagram profile for unpaid links. These presets use marketing type social and produce Social → Facebook or Social → Instagram for new visits.

Attriboo no longer treats fbclid alone as a paid-ad signal. Without a paid marketing label, a recognized Facebook or Instagram referral is Social; a Meta click identifier without a usable platform source falls back to Social → Meta. That fallback does not prove which Meta platform sent the visit or whether it was paid. Use explicit paid_social labels on ads so you do not rely on it.

Find the visits and sales in Attriboo

  1. Choose the same website and dates.

Include the test visit and any later payment. Keep the same attribution model when comparing campaigns.

  2. Check Sources, then Campaigns or Ad ROAS.

Sources shows the platform label. Campaigns groups visits and credited revenue by utm_campaign. A campaign label is not proof that the activity was a paid ad.

  3. Use distinct campaign labels for separate post revenue rows.

If two posts share a campaign label, their campaign totals are combined. The optional utm_content label is recorded with activity; it does not create a separate per-post or per-ad revenue report. For paid ads, keep the campaign ID or name that matches the imported cost.

  4. Check a missing sale separately.

A payment can be imported without a matching visit. Consent, blocked tracking, country controls, another device, a cleared identifier or missing checkout metadata can prevent matching. A tagged link does not fix those gaps.

Why Meta and Attriboo totals can differ

Attriboo’s credited revenue comes from recorded website journeys and matched payments under your selected model. Imported ad costs are a separate input. A Meta cost import does not recover missing journeys or make an unmatched payment belong to a campaign.

Meta’s own reporting can apply different conversion rules, dates and windows. Compare the same currency, dates and refund treatment. Attriboo does not claim to replace Meta’s optimization tools, track every ad impression or capture a lead completed entirely inside a Meta form.

You are done when

New paid visits appear as Meta Ads under the intended campaign, and any cost and payment matches have been checked separately.
